the nytimes t mag gave a glowing review (people, it is time to retire the word hippie) and there’s a super nice feature in the new santa barbara magazine.
there’re practically 0 degrees of separation between ab and carrie and matt of denim revivalists imogene + willie. it’s an all around love fest. i too, covet the catherine jean and will be adding it to my denim pile post haste. here’s a little IG love. be sure to check their store when in nashville! a road trip is definitely planned for 2015.
ever thankful for good friends, family and fun times. xaShare
some upcoming happenings i am participating in and/or attending.
you don’t really need an excuse to go up to glorious ojai but here is a great one: the opening of in the field, channon and bianca roe‘s new lifestyle store -mens, women’s, kids, home, table top -the works. choice choices, beautifully presented. they’re having an opening day celebration. swing by, make a day of it. we definitely will…
also this saturday in nyc, loup charmant launches a wonderful pop-up shop in my hometown neighborhood -the upper west side. be sure to frequent it. i love kee’s clothes and #sac1sac2 will be in the mix with pals like: le feu de leu, cathy callahan, mara carrizo scalise, to name a few.
the echo park craft fair is practically around the corner so please mark your calendars and save the date!
it is finally some kind of autumn here in southern california. it even rained one night and morning! it is finally crisp more often than not. so, in response to this news worthy weather situation , a new jesse kamm cape had to be added to the mix. the crisp air has also brought a flurry of good tidings in the form of press and new accounts.
and some new stockiest: hello nashville and imogene + willie!
and in case you hadn’t heard, domino magazine is back on newsstands and with a new online store to boot.
i just love this season. the weather, the autumnal harvest of fruits (i LIVE for apples, persimmon, pomegranate…) and veggies (sweet potato, squash, cauliflower, tomato soup, lentils carrots…), cozy clothes and lots going on -making, doing, seeing and recharging. onward forward. backward never.
earlier this spring I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Ilona Marx for German magazine JNC where she shares the sac 1 sac 2 love!

as if i need more reasons to love the venerable brand, hermés and all their goods and collaborations, we have “petit h“; a project that saves, catalogues and reuses every scrap, sample, overstock, reject, morsel. then, under the artistic direction, creativity and ingenuity of Pascale Mussard, repurposes them into new covetable items. it is a project that she finds “stimulating, satisfying and joyful! mais, vraiment! je suis bien d’accord. for continuing episodes of this most inspiring series, go behind the scenes chez “petit h ” here.
sac 1, sac2 are now part of Martha Stewart’s eBay curation: Martha Stewart American Made. pinch me! before there was artisanal, seasonal, super-charged, bio-dynamic, crystal filtered, sustainable, local, heirloom –air, Martha Stewart has been championing American makers from day one. from her shows on pbs, cbs, to hgtv, her magazines, her catalogues ( -remember those catalogues???) she has been introducing us to the ‘kind of their kind’, makers, doers, herders, harvesters, people who create things with care, attention to detail, high quality over flimsy mass production, people who work with nature and natural materials. the butcher, the baker, the candle stick maker, we met the ones to know first on Martha’s shows. to me, she is the god-mother of the current crafting craze leading to the success and popularity of well-curated craft fairs. so it took 20 plus years to sow those seeds she threw but here we are, deep in the digital age, doing analog things with dowels, or hand blocks, or lathes, or leather crafting saddle-makers, loom weaving, dying hand spun yarns with plant dyes -then bringing the goods to the people via virtual and real time markets. this is old school/new school crafting and it’s a really good thing so, yes, I am kind of beyond jazzed to have products included in her curation! read more about Martha Stewart American Made and the 2 day market in Grand Central Station in autumn.
