just a few of the many things i covet….although some of these are ‘spring’ looks, in autumn i love chambray and indigo with tan, brown leather or sand suede, an oatmeal sweater…for me, these blues work all year round…

compost: the new black -gold. i am the proud owner of a prototype of the illustrious composter –the valentina. (the definitive model is available at priscillawoolworth.com.) i just love it! it’s the perfect size for apartment terraces and those with small or potted gardens. i can’t wait to see the results! so far, all is decomposing nicely. the greens (pulp from the juicer, other veggie/fruit scraps) and the browns (dry leaves, used coffee grounds) and the shredded paper (junk mail) seem to be getting along just fine and maintaining the right amount of moisture. next step: worms! i’ll keep you posted on the progress…

“You guys might enjoy this. This is a stop-action movie I made in 1979 of a walk through some of the Upper West Side.
I start by walking south on the east side of Broadway from 87th. Then I turn east on 86th St and walk to CPW, then south down CPW along the park. The song was written by me in 1981 for my band “Comateens”. I recorded it in 1988, and then when YouTube came along I realized my film might make a good visual accompaniment for it. -Nicholas West”
i just love how with access to things long since stored away, patience and imagination all these mediums can come together and make something truly more significant than the individual parts might have been at the time…thanks nicholas west! ENJOY!

when i saw this my havi-ness hormone went into over-drive. it was all i could do to just grab lizzie garrett’s tomboy style post and re-post her miss moss re-post. had to share. immediatement. it’s NOT OFFICIAL, just a custom project a stylist played around with…which is great news because now we know we didn’t miss it! there’s hope that an official collabo could materialize in the future…allo hermes? supply, je vous presenter, demand.
